Verdigris Fire Protection District is a combination service that utilizes volunteers to supplement full time firefighters. Many of our full time employees began as volunteers and we often hire when the need arises from our volunteer staff. When we have openings for volunteers, Verdigris Fire Protection District begins the hiring process which includes a physical agility test, board interview with our staff, a background check and Chief interview. We also accept applications as needed for full time positions.
